Details of Approach

I originally trained as a nurse working with neurodivergent people, before graduating with a degree in philosophy. After decades of providing therapeutic support and training to staff teams, families and individual of all ages. and abilities I returned to college and gained a masters degree in counselling and psychotherapy in 2022.
This background informs an integrative approach drawing on existential therapy, a deep understanding of neurodevelopment and an awareness of the impact of early life experiences and family dynamics
I work with families, couple and individuals with an special interest in the following areas -

*Developmental trauma
*Behaviour of concern in children
*Identity, meaning and belonging throughout the different stages of life such as adolescence, mid-life and
old age.
*Relationships difficulties
*Anxiety
*Depression
*Spiritual growth
* Counselling and therapeutic support for parents of offspring with mental health or other needs
*Counselling and coaching for autistic individual and people with ADHD (General life issues and/or issues
arising form the lived experience of neurodivergence).

I work with individuals, couples and families , according to specific needs.







Principal Modality

I use a core integrative modality which can be adapted to meet the specific needs of each client. I draw on theories and practice in -

* Person Centred Therapy
* Psychodynamic Therapy ( in particular - Attachment Theory)
*Existential theory.

I also draw on CBT and solution focused therapy if indicated.
All my work in informed by an awareness of neurodivergence and inclusion and is trauma informed.
