Details of Approach
My approach is Person-Centered and Integrative. Together we will explore your thoughts and feelings, build an understanding of your particular needs and decide what approaches may best meet those needs.
For example, some clients may simply need the safety, time and space to tell their story, work through their feelings of loss, sadness grief, anger, disappointment, confusion etc, discover their own solutions and feel respected and heard for who they are. Others perhaps might like to use some CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) techniques – which enable them to challenge old beliefs & negative thoughts and learn, adopt and practice new behaviours. Others again might prefer the Biodynamic approach which tends to be more holistic and adopts a mind /body approach; aspects of Gestalt, Transactional analysis
Biodynamic approach –believing that people tend to hold stress and trauma in their bodies and this needs to be released by applying specific exercises/bodywork/massage – thereby allowing them to heal old wounds, grief or hurt and empowering them to proceed with their lives with ease and confidence.
